Optimal protection
Snow
30cm of light powdery snow is no problem. Wet snow slides off by itself due to the arch of the roof. Nevertheless, if large quantities of snow should remain on the VanProtect Roof, it might be necessary to clean it.
High winds
Due to the lateral straps, the VanProtect Roof is storm proof, even in high winds and it has passed all testing in our well known «high wind valleys» in Switzerland. Also proven on the Atlantic coast.
Water, Heat, Cold
Can not do any harm to the VanProtect Roof. Only ultraviolet rays over many years could have an effect on the tarp. However 10 year old models are still being used with no visible damage. Scratches or similar traces of use due to careless mounting and removal are the high risk factors.
